I arrived and they were asking me to pay a certain amount of money. I couldn’t understand how much and when I asked again they realized I didn’t speak their language. The guy at the entrance immediately took his phone out and typed in that they weren’t going to let me in. I was very confused. I brought the guy from the coffee shop downstairs to help translate and he said the woman at the front entrance wasn’t letting me in because I needed a referral and because I didn’t look gay. Lol I still left confused as this was my first night in Istanbul. First timer too. There are so many other cool, welcoming bars in the area. Don’t waste your time here." (Google / Feb 2026)

"Although it is nice to have a safe queer space in a country like Turkey where lgbtq community is highly polarized and marginalized, I experienced a bad attitude towards straight people there. The owner did not allow us to enter as we were straight/straight looking (whatever that means...) We were very rudely told that they do not accept any straight people. I truly hope that people will learn to live and love together as this division does not help anyone and builds up the hatred amongst all the people." (Google / Jan 2026)

"I never had and kissed (and more) so many guys in my life like in this place + the freedom + the good music. It felt even better than western but with a lot of local people being themselves. I LOVED this place."  (Jan 2026)

"We had fun dancing and there was a small drag show as well. The vibes were great, nice place to go to enjoy and be yourself." (September 2025)

"This space is safe and super pretty. We went on a Wednesday, it started with very few people - which danced their asses off - and ended up crowded. The audio-system is gorgeous, the roof opens and the people were so friendly we had a big time on the dance floor. No shame no judgment no predatory vibes."  (September 2025)

"Had an amazing Fri night. Started with English songs, but the crowd really came alive with Turkish pop. Read a couple comments that it isn’t welcoming to straight people - in this instance I actually agree that the safety of LGBTQ people comes first. It was a privilege to experience such authentic joy" (August 2025)

"The music was enjoyable, with a mix of local and international tracks that had great beats to dance to. However, the playlist felt a bit outdated as most of the songs played were from the 2010s as far as I know it was not a special era night, so some fresher more current tracks would definitely enhance the experience. The drag show has potential but could use some improvement to be more engaging. The biggest issue though was the lack of proper ventilation. While it’s understandable that the venue can get crowded there are always ways to address this whether by upgrading ventilation systems or making better use of the air conditioning. It was extremely hard to enjoy dancing while dripping with sweat due to the heat. The crowd was quite young, and 80 percent male. At least on that day."  (August 2025)

"Bigudi is located on the same building with "Lost Teras", which has a more visible sign." (November 2024)
