A perfect example of Istanbul's underground LGBT
culture, Sahra is probably the most sleazy one among gay
/ transgender night clubs. Nevertheless it was very
popular until late 2000's, when the prices were very
low, thus attracting many young, horny boys coming from
the ghettoes all
around Istanbul. It is not busy anymore as before. It is
located on the right hand side of Sadri Alisik, across
from
the small mosque (Huseyin Aga Camii) on Istiklal Avenue.
Besides regular transvestites, this is where you can see
drag-queens and cross-dressers usually on Saturday
nights. Do not go here with a lot of money and watch
your wallet. .
