Antalya, often referred to as the tourism paradise of
Turkey, boasts an extended summer season and a rich
tapestry of natural, historical, and cultural wonders.
Its modern and liberal atmosphere extends a warm welcome
to gay individuals, making their experience more
comfortable. Internationally recognized as the capital
of the Turkish Riviera, Antalya is adorned with a
plethora of seafront bars, nightclubs, restaurants, and
shops. It’s a vibrant city where visitors can revel in
both its coastal beauty and lively social scene.

Despite being the fifth most populous city in Turkey and
a highly popular tourist destination, Antalya has only a
few exclusively gay bars and clubs. Below, you’ll find a
list of the existing gay venues in Antalya
Club Pose (23:00 - 05:00)
59. Sokak,
(Barlar Sokagi). Muratpaşa, Antalya
Poseclub.html (Click for reviews, location map and
more)
The club hosts a variety of shows and activities
throughout the week. You can find this club on “Barlar
Sokagi,” a charming bar street near the historic Marina
and Cumhuriyet Meydanı—the main square in downtown
Antalya. Check out their social media pages before
going, because they might be closed during some weekdays
Antalya is known for its vibrant nightlife and musical
events. The city offers a wide range of options for
bars, clubs, and other entertainment venues. During the
summer months, the marina and the Old Town (Kaleiçi) are
particularly busy with bars and clubs. While there are
not many LGBT-specific venues, there are many bars and
clubs where gay people can feel comfortable. Here are
some of the popular regular (non-LGBT) venues in Antalya
that we would recommend with their links on Google Maps.

Some erotic movie theaters are frequented by local gay
men even though they are not necessarily very
gay-friendly venues. These cinemas are open during the
day time, roughly between 11 a.m and 9 p.m. Majority of
visitors would be middle aged and mature men though
younger guys might also visit often. They would be
busier on Saturday afternoons and all day on Sundays. It
might be hard to locate them on your first visit,
because they mostly don’t have visible signboards on the
main streets and the entrance doors are inside
passageways or back streets. So, you need to look a
little carefully to find them.
Attention: The places listed in this category are
not gay venues. Their staff isn't always very gay-friendly either. They are open to the general
public, and they can also be visited by heterosexual
men. For these reasons, discretion and confidentiality
are recommended.

Some saunas and hammams are visibly frequented by local
gay men even though they are not necessarily very
gay-friendly venues. These venues are open during the
day time, roughly until around 10pm. Unlike the gay bars
and clubs, the majority of clients in these bathhouses
would be middle aged and mature men.

Akdeniz Hamami
Hasan Subasi Cad,
46. Sokak, No: 22,
Antalya
This is not a gay venue. It was first recommended by a
website visitor in 2009 like this: "I haven't
been there personally, but heard from friends that it is
a quiet bath, not a gay-friendly place, but it may be
possible to see some gay men". It would cost around
$25 including entrance, soap massage and scrubbing
Traditionally, Turkish baths had either separate
sections for men and women or served them on different
days of the week. But this has changed in tourist
destinations. Most tourist hammams and spas are mixed
now. There are many modern spas, massage parlors and
bath houses in and around Antalya which are very similar
to each other; however, we can specifically recommend
the following ones to anyone looking for a more
authentic hammam experience.
The places listed below are
not gay venues
Çarşı Hamamı - Ismetpaşa, Antalya
Sefa Hamamı - Kaleiçi, Antalya
Yeni Hamam
- Üçkapılar, Antalya
Antique Spa Hamam - Kaleiçi, Antalya
Selçuklu Hamamı - Muratpaşa, Antalya
Demirhan Hamam - Güllük, Antalya

Cruising spots are not as crowded as they once used to
be before the Internet era, especially after mobile apps
became popular. Although there may still be some gay men
in these places, usually after dark; it is advisable to
be a little cautious especially in parks and secluded
beaches. It is recommended that you do not carry very
valuable items or large amounts of money with you, just
in case. Here are some possible outdoor gay cruising areas
in Antalya
Click on the park names to see exact locations on Google
maps
Yacht Marina
- You can see local gay men cruising especially along the
breakwater by the Yacht Marina, amphitheatre and its
neighborhood. Yach Marina is located in Kaleici, old
city district in downtown Antalya. It is usually not
dangerous to walk about.
Karaalioglu Park
- This is a very
big park in downtown Antalya somewhere between yacht
Marina and Football stadium. Especially the isolated
parts closer to the sea side are where most local gay
men are walking about. Watch out hustlers and thieves
especially late at night, and do not carry valuable
belongings on you.
Yavuz Ozcan Park
- It is located across the main street from Selekler
Çarşısı, an old shopping mall. The park is more
centrally located and generally safer than Karaalioğlu
Park for a walk after dark, though it's still wise to
stay alert and be careful about the people you
encounter.
Cumhuriyet Meydanı - The square at the heart of down town Antalya. You can
see few local gay people cruising around especially in
the evening, mostly around the monument.
Cam Piramit
Vicinity - The area surrounding and the street behind the Glass
Pyramid (Cam Piramit) - an exhibition center in the park
near Konyaaltı Beach - has been recommended by a Turkish
website visitor in 2020 as an evening cruising spot,
specifically for meeting gay bears in Antalya. However,
do not stay after dark, as the area becomes completely
isolated and is far from any residential neighborhoods.
Eski Lara
Yolu - The walkway,
secluded rocky beaches, and parks between the Marmara
Hotel and the small cape in the Fener district run along
Eski Lara Yolu, connecting downtown Antalya to Lara. It
is roughly 6-7 km from the city center and isn't really
worth the trip unless you are staying nearby.

Nowadays,
Hornet is the most popular dating app among the
LGBTQ+ community in Turkey, especially since Grindr
was banned for not filtering pornographic content.
Today, almost every Turkish gay man, along with many
transgender individuals and bisexual men can be
found on Hornet. Other alternatives include
Taimi,
Planet Romeo and Tinder. As expected,
Growlr and
Scruff are the preferred apps for the Turkish
'bear' community.
As with anywhere else in the world, it is wise
to be cautious when meeting people through these
apps. You may also encounter many rent boys on these
gay dating platforms.

There is not any peculiarly gay-friendly beach in
Antalya, but it is more likely to come across other some
gay men in following beaches.

Konyaalti
Public Beach
Konyaalti Beach is the nearest public beach with respect
to the city center and old city called Kaleici on the
west side of Antalya. It is a long strand of pebbles and
rough stand backed by park, some hotels, and residential
areas. It is a pleasant walk to get to Konyaalti from
city center but you can also take the tram westward from
Kalekapisi at the center of Antalya to the end of the
line near the Antalya Museum and the Falez and Sheraton
Voyager hotels, then walk downhill 10 minutes to reach
Antalya Beach Park and the eastern end of Konyaalti
Plaji. Antalya Beach Park has shade trees, snack stands,
restaurants, cafes and bars, showers and other services,
as well as beach chairs and sun umbrellas for rent
Adalar Plaji
It is a small private beach in downtown Kaleici, visited
quite often by local LGBTQ individuals and gay tourists.
Do not expect any visible gay atmosphere. The entrance
is at the far end of the Karaalioglu Park. When you walk
into the Karaalioglu park and reach the place called
"balkon" (balcony) it is right down under. Look for a
small sign-board on your right and walk down the steps
to find the entrance. It is a small beach created on
artificial platforms mounted on the rocks and it has no
sandy beach. There are sun beds, umbrellas and changing
rooms as well as beverage service. The entrance fee is
approximately the Turkish Lira equivalent of $10.
Mermerli Beach
Mermerli Beach is a hidden gem located in the heart of
Antalya’s old town Kaleici. The beach is accessible only
by taking several staircases, which can be challenging.
However, the stunning surroundings and panoramic views
make the experience worthwhile. It’s best to arrive
early, preferably before 11 a.m, to secure a place. The
beach can get very crowded, and the space can be
cramped. The drinks are decent, but the food is average.
The service is alright, and the entrance fee is around
$12.
Lara Public Beach
Lara is the most popular beach district near Antalya
city center, about 16 km but easily accessible by
frequent public buses. Lara Plaji (Lara Beach) east
of Antalya is a long beach of gentle waves, darkish
sand, and some small pebbles. Most parts of the beach
are backed by commercial services offering beach chairs,
sun umbrellas, snacks and drinks, showers and perhaps
even some entertainment.
Fener Beach
A free of charge swimming point on the rocks open to
general public along the old Lara road, accessible down
the ramparts with some steepy steps

Kemer Beach,
Kemer
Kemer Beach is for those who want to be waited on hand
and foot while relaxing in a manicured environment.
While other beaches boast of the beauty of nature, Kemer
beach is tailored to ensure all travelers are treated
like king and queen for the day.
Phaselis Beach,
Kemer
West of the touristic town of Kemer is the quiet
secluded place of Phaselis Beach. Due to its beauty and
calm, serene atmosphere, many of the daily yacht trips
will dock here so that their guests can take amazing
photographs of a fascinating and eye-catching beach.
Olympos &
Çıralı Beach
This beach is located within the national green park of
Olympos and it is easy to realize why Turkish people
want to preserve and keep this place free from modern
development. If one day is not enough for you to explore
the beach and surrounding areas, book into one of the
many beach houses that surrounded the golden sands of
the coastline
Kaputas Beach, Kalkan
Located in the quiet, laid back resort of Kalkan is the
Kaputas Beach. It is a very small beach, but it is also
very beaitiful so you are advised to go early in the
morning to find a good place to lay down under the
sun.Calming waters and the yellow sands blend together
in amongst the backdrop views to provide a location that
can only be nicknamed paradise. In summer season, you
can come here with frequent mini buses running between
Kalkan. The beach is right by the highway, closer to
Kalkan.
Sorgun /
Çamiçi Beach, Manavgat
This cute little beach can be found in an area called
Manavgat, near Side. It is rather popular among the
families. There are water sports facilities as well.
Cleopatra Beach, Alanya
If you are looking for a family friendly beach, head to
the resort of Alanya to see Cleopatra Beach for
yourself. Paddle in the clear, blue water with your
children or take part in one of the various water sports
activities that are happening all day long. This beach
is a favorite for many tourists who visit Turkey every
year.
Incekum Beach, Alanya
This beach in Alanya has often been called one of the
best beaches on the southern coastline. The water is
crystal clear and blue and due to the shallow depths, it
has become a popular choice for families with young kids
who want to get in and splash around.
